Once you are an Umbrellar Portal customer or an Umbrellar Partner you may want to transfer your License-based Subscriptions to Umbrellar.

In order to do so, this involves three simple steps:

  1. Onboard the customer:
Onboard the customer in your White-Label portal. This can be done via Self Sign Up by customer or by adding via MyCSP portal>Customer>Add new customer.
While Self Sign up Onboarding, the customer will automatically be invited to accept to create a reseller relationship. (Without this you will not be able to purchase the license on behalf of the customer and the customer will not be able to login to the portal)
While creating a customer via MyCSP portal>Customer> Add new customer, the acceptance is done automatically by the portal on behalf of the reseller.

  2. Purchase the desired licenses:

Once the customer is onboarded (accepts your invitation) or added in MyCSP via a reseller, you'll be able to provision the desired subscriptions and licenses for the customer (for example, the same Office 365 offers that the customer purchased previously)

    Remember:

    1. If you have got multiple Office 365 product plans (e.g., Office 365 Enterprise E3, Project Online Premium) you will need to purchase a subscription per product plan.

    2. Ensure that you buy the correct number of licenses for each product plan. if you don’t purchase enough licenses and your old ones have expired your users won’t be able to use the services until you have the correct amount of licenses available.

    3. Once you have bought all your licenses, log into the Office 365 portal>>Billing>>Licenses and ensure your Umbrellar licenses are showing up.

    4. If you changed any of your products (e.g. Project for Office 365 to Project Online Professional) while purchasing subscriptions through Umbrellar, please ensure you reassign the licenses appropriately

  3. Cancel the original subscription:

The customer can either allow the original subscriptions to expire or cancel them. However, since there are no refunds on canceled subscriptions, it's best to wait until the subscriptions are near the natural expiration dates.

To cancel your current licenses in your Office 365 licenses. Log into the Office 365 portal>>Billing>>Subscriptions

    Note:

The customer might be eligible for a credit if they purchased through the Microsoft 365 (M365) admin portal (for example, through monthly or yearly billing direct from Microsoft). Credits for subscriptions purchased directly from Microsoft are handled by M365 billing support. See M365 guidance on how to cancel your M365 subscription. If you have delegated administration privileges for the customer, you can contact M65 support on behalf of your customer. If not, please ask your customer to contact M365 support directly to find out how much credit they are eligible for and how this credit will be given to them. Read information on delegated admin privileges.

The customer will then continue forward with the subscriptions you have provisioned without interruption.
